Biography of Robert Spurgeon

Robert Spurgin was born on 23 September 1701, and baptised on 9 October 1701 at Broome (next to Ellingham), Norfolk. His parents are recorded as Robt Spurgin & An Spurgin.

He married his first wife Elizabeth Baker on 29 May 1726 and they had 7 children: Elizabeth (died age 13), Ann (died age 4 days), Ann, Mary, John, Robert & Thomas. By 1729 they were living at Hempnall, Norfolk.

After the death of his first wife in 1738, he married Mary Nash on 31 October 1740 at also at Hempnall, Norfolk and they had 2 children, Charles & William.

He remained living at Hempnall until his death in 1761 age 60.
