Brilliant sunny day after strong winds at night, so vis. only 1-2m. Walk to east end of beach, then finish kitting up & mask strap breaks! Improvise using a wrist cord! In through surf, then surface swim out, drop down, but lose buddy, surface, down again - no sign. Up & down third time & stay together a while. See a couple of common starfish, lots of kelp, obelia geniculata, sea beard, star seasquirt. But not good vis, lose buddy again, surface & we agree to swim back. Fill in SeaSearch form in sunshine with Sally & lots of others.
