Dive 145, Saint Marie/Rif (#27), Habitat Curacao House Reef, Curacao, 20/08/2008

Habitat Curacao's house reef: Saint Marie/Rif - solo dive from pier. Lots to see - swim out along rope over sandy bottom with lots of anemones, gorgonians, brain corals, & a large solitary tarpon under the dive boat - hovering. Reef has a strong north current, so head south among corals - lots of coral shrimps, squirrel fish, etc. Then among a large cloud sand, a great big ray with short tail, black, trying to bury itself. Must be at least 1m wingtip to wingtip. Eventually it glides off. Sailors eyeballs? And more shrimps - some among giant anemones. Great fun!
