Dive 188, Calpe Beach, Altea, Spain, 04/04/2010

Night dive with Guido from the beach at Calpe - a rough mixed large & small pebble beach not easy to walk over, but mostly level. Very relaxing swim south across eel grass, with sandy intervals & large rocks. Lots of fish, several octopus, rock lobsters, some pretty & very small baby cuttlefish (sepia) changing colour & rock lobster buried in sand except for bright jewel eyes, scorpion fish well disguised waiting for prey on rocks, goat fish, anemones, etc. Good dive, & a bit nervous (rightly) of exit, but Guido lands a helping hand as I stumble up beach. Bright stars of Orion (no moon) above as we de-kit. Drive back to dive centre in van & then beer with Irina & his wife.
