Dive 218, El Mirador, Isla de la Juventud, Cuba, 12/08/2012

First dive with Irina from our new base @ Hotel Colony, Isla de Juventud (aka Isle of Pines, Treasure Island...). One hour boat trip south from hotel through mangrove islands, then drop down onto sandy bottom between many reefs with sandy gullies. See babacuda, arrow head & another crab, many shoals of various reef fish, a mixed group of squirrel & French grunts packed close together behind rocky pinnacle. Angelfish, sea fans, tube sponges, black durgon. Lunch on boat, then an hour on beach, jetty & exploring fauna. Very relaxing. Irina spotted a pipe fish too!
