Biography of Sidney Nichols
Born around 1821 in Little Bealings to father John Nichols & mother Elizabeth (maiden name unknown).
In the 1841 census he's 20, a brick maker, living in the parish of Great Bealings with his mother Eliz (50), brother William (23) & sister Mary Ann (17).
In 1844 he married Harriet Hudson at Woodbridge, Suffolk. The 1851 census records his profession as Tile Maker; he's living at Albion Hill, Ipswich with his wife Harriet, & sons Sidney (6) & Walter (3), & a lodger. By 1861 they are living at 26 Albion Place, Ipswich with their sons Sidney (16) & William (8), & daughter Ellen (6).

In the 1871 census he's an Inn Keeper & Brick Maker & the family are living at the White Elm Inn, Ipswich: his wife Harriet, sons Sidney (27) & William (19), daughter Ellen (16), & a lodger.
By 1881 they have moved to live at the Valley Brick Works, Foxhall Road, Ipswich: he's living with his wife Harriet (59), son William (29, a carpenter), & grand-daughter Ellen (10): Sidney & Ellen had left home.

Later, in 1891 Sidney (70) was Inn Keeper at the Woolpack Inn, Ipswich, with his wife Harriet (69) & grand-daughter Ellen (20). Sidney died around 1900 in Suffolk.
