Biography of Mary Porter (Mary Dawson)
Born in Carbrooke, Norfolk in 1804 & baptised on 30 December 1804. Mary married James Porter on 23 November 1821 at St John the Baptist Church, Reedham. They had 7 children, but Mary died in November 1841, possibly in child-birth - her last son Robert was born & died at the same time. In the 1841 census James (a wherry man) & Mary are living in Reedham with their children James (14), Elizabeth (8), John (6) & William (2).
Ann's first-born daughter (Mary Ann, 21) married Thomas Chipperfield, a rat-catcher, in 1843. Her second daughter Ann left home age 15 to marry James High.
Age 37, Mary was buried at Reedham on 14 November 1841.
