Postcards sent from Walter to Sarah
Five postcards from England sent in the 1920's by Walter Spurgeon to his family (mother Sarah Spurgeon, brothers & sisters) who emigrated to California in 1915. All have been glued into an album, and later removed & given to Roy Spurgeon during his visit to the USA in 1968. Messages on the back of a couple of the cards seem to be in Walter Spurgeon's handwriting, and addressed directly to his mother. Later notes (names) on cards written by Joan Spurgeon.

Handwritten on card: "Margate. Don't you Dearest Mother think this is a fine photo, there was a crowd of people looking on at him when this was taken because the photographer told him to laugh, and you can see he did"

Handwritten on card: "Walking on the Prom all the Family. Tell us what you think of all these photos sent with tons of love to all of you. Most loving Son & Daughter."
