Saw basking shark near dive site, near to boat, & on way back - ~2.5m long, black fin, open mouth, on surface, lazy swimmer. Assigned to buddy pair just before dive - no BWRAF! Can't float, but follow stern anchor line to Scylla deck - but can't get buoyant - still sinking! Hold on rail, swim, notice fin strap off foot - adjust. Stand on deck, place 6kg on deck - still not buoyant! No buddies. Decide to surface - have to fin, & I can hear BCD leaking! Catch fin on surface. Doug comes & picks me up - BCD upper dump valve cord is trapped open under BCD! Calm down, then back down stern line to deck with 9kg - good buoyancy! Swim to get the weights I left behind, adjust buoyancy, & slow return to surface on stern chain. Lesson: get a good buddy! (& fins straps higher).

NB: Because of surfacing, dive computer recorded two dive profiles. See first profile (dive#24).
