Dive 39, Cathedral Cave, Gozo, Malta, 25/09/2005

In 11:56, dive time 55 minutes, max depth 20.4 metres.

Drive to SW end of inlet, then down 100 steps to small beach. Surface swim half way to mouth, avoiding stinging jellyfish, then down & along east side @ ~12m to find cave entrance - it's a very large cave entrance, lots of boulders. Then shimmering light overhead inside -should have surfaced, but didn't realise as Sarah didn't. Lovely blue silhouettes as we exit. Swim along & above deep reef & wall - lots to see, including black & greek bath sponges, snakelocks anemonies, & on way back lots of steely gray hard rock-rose like corals? Harder to walk up 100 steps, but a very enjoyable dive. Lots of fossils in rocks where we picnic too. Also rock scorpion fish. Found Dexter's knife on way out.
