Dive 80, Jennycliff, Plymouth, England, 21/12/2006

Solo dive to practice dry suit buoyancy - calm, sunny, frosty day. Easy beach entry & swim out along bottom using Vince's ankle weights, so no 'feet up' problems. Put air into suit as I descend - warm, but BCD is empty, so no control. Lots of snakelocks anemonies & small cushion stars, also a dogfish, a spiny starfish, and a couple of velvet swimming crabs. At 8m practice slow ascent, but difficult to vent suit. At surface descend again & this time use BCD to control buoyancy - suit snug & not so warm, but more control when surfacing. Need more weight! Long surface swim back as sun sets on the shortest day. Nice! Also saw strawberry anemone (in 3m!).
