Biography of James High

Born 13 January 1795 in Reedham, Norfolk to parents Robert & Jane. Baptised 30 January 1795.

Age 20 he married Charlotte Hunt (15) on 14 November 1815. They had 6 children, including twins James & Elizabeth. His first wife died in 1834. By the 1841 census he's age 45, an agricultural labourer, living with his sons William (22), Charles (15) and Robert (11).

On 5 June 1843 he married Charlotte Wigg Carver, also a widow. In the 1851 census he's age 53, living with his second wife Charlotte (48), his sons Charles (25) & Robert (20), and two lodgers, Robert Clark (39, a carpenter) & William Cooper (14, servant lad).

In the 1861 census he's age 66, living with Charlotte (58). By 1871 he's 76, Charlotte is 68, living with his grand-son James (17) and a lodger Robert Lake (18, a butcher's apprentice).

He died in Reedham age 77, and was buried on 10 September 1872.
