Dive 105, Mew Stone, Wembury, England, 29/07/2007

First boat dive for Rescue Diver with Abi - scenario is unconcious diver underwater - Henrik (AOW student from Germany) is victim. First part of dive is fun - candy stripe worm, pink sea fans, spiny starfish & bloody henry, dead mans fingers, boring sponges, urchins, devonshire cup corals... Then exercise - I grasp Henrik's tank between my knees, use his BCD to start ascent, then rise, holding reg in - Abi checks ascent rate. Ok so far - but at surface a mess - try to put Henrik on lift in gear - no good. Take gear off while giving rescue breaths, then onto lift wrong way around. Then right way, but we took 5 minutes. And in boat we didn't follow through with primary evaluation & emergency call-out, so get a deserved & useful bollocking from Dougie. Learned a lot!
