Biography of Charles Henry Carpenter
Born on 30 September 1862 at 5 Hall Place, Paddington, London. His mother Rebecca died when Charles was 3 years old.
In the 1871 census Charles (8) is living at 7 Hall Place, Paddington with his father Thyne John (41), step-mother Elizabeth (25), brothers John Thyne (16) & Alfred (3); and sisters Rebecca (15), Mary (13), Emma (11) & Amy (6). By 1881 his father has died, and he's at 21 Cirencester Street, Paddington working as a railway porter, living with his step-mother Elizabeth (34), half-brother Alfred (13), sister Amy (16), and half-sisters Alice (9) & Florence (5).
He married Martha Harding on 20 December 1885 while living at 107 Pembroke Road, Kilburn, Middlesex, occupation porter.
By 1889 the family had moved to 69 Colborne Road, Kensington, occupation general labourer (see Nellie's birth cretificate). In the 1891 census Charles (28) is living at 61 Wellington Road, Kensington with wife Martha (23) and daughters Mary (4), & Nellie (1).
In the 1901 census Charles (38, packer in a general warehouse) is living at 27 Albert Road, Paddington with wife Martha (33) and daughters Mary (14), Nellie (11), Winifred (9) & Martha (6).

Age 48, Charles died of gastro intestinal influenza on 21 November 1910 while living with his family at 39 Buckingham Road, Harlesden. His occupation is recorded as 'Warehouse packer' on the death certificate. Occupation noted as "Refrigerator Maker" on daughter Nellie's marriage certificate 27 December 1915 (also noted as deceased).
